The course curriculum is developed by industry, so graduates will build relevant, practical skills that are valued by employers. Upon completion of the qualification, graduates may pursue a range of career paths in the building and construction industry, such as a construction project manager, technician and trades worker, or professional.
The course is designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge and experience you need to enter the building and construction industry. You will develop your practical skills in carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and rendering, plumbing, electrical systems and air conditioning. The qualification also includes units on health, safety and environmental issues.
You will have the opportunity to study and apply the principles of building construction and design, as well as develop your communication skills through group work and problem solving. You will learn how to use computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
