RPL is a system that allows you to gain knowledge and skills from previous learning. It stands for classroom based Learning, which means using your existing skills and experience to gain credit toward a qualification. This can include vocational training, TAFE courses, or just general life experiences such as volunteering, travel, or hobbies. So how does it work? The first step is to see if your experience can count towards an existing qualification or not by getting in touch with the provider (TAFE, VET provider, etc) that delivers the course/qualification you want to be assessed on. Once they have determined this information they will provide an application form which includes information about your previous learning including qualifications gained overseas (if applicable), assessment history as well as any other relevant details needed for an accurate assessment outcome.”
